Individuals can self-refer or alternatively, Medicare and Private Health Rebates may be available.
You can receive a rebate, leaving only a small gap fee. In some cases bulk billing arrangements can be made.

To get a referral you need to make an appointment with your GP who will complete a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP). Please let the Receptionist know this at the time of making the appointment so that your GP and you have time to complete the required paperwork.

Counselling available for depression, anxiety, grief and loss, anger management, pain management, relationship issues and couple counselling, trauma, motor vehicle accidents and workers compensation injuries.
From December 2012, the number of counselling sessions eligible clients can receive through Medicare is 10 individual sessions per year.  After 6 sessions, your GP will assess your progress and approve a further 4 sessions if appropriate, in that calendar year.
